How we work: editorial, data and commercial disclosure
For people building and running independent gyms
Gym Owners publishes practical UK business guidance, seasonal checklists and insights drawn from the data we can actually observe. We distinguish our editorial judgement from measured findings. General guides do not replace advice about your own legal, tax, insurance or premises arrangements.
Our relationship with Gym Directory
Gym Owners and Gym Directory are run by the same team. We direct owners to list or claim their gyms there. Referral links carry campaign tags so their contribution can be measured where analytics is enabled and consent permits it. Newsletter signup here does not create or claim a gym listing.
Advertising and affiliate links
We currently have no affiliate partners or paid supplier placements in the new buying guides. When a link earns commission, we label it Ad - affiliate link beside the link and explain the arrangement before you click. A sponsored article or listing is labelled as advertising before its commercial content. Paid inclusion is not an independent recommendation.
Suppliers can enquire through our contact form. Inclusion is subject to review and does not certify a provider's suitability, regulatory status or service quality. We do not invent reviews, rankings, savings or customer counts.
What the monthly report can tell you
Directory figures describe the records in a dated snapshot, including missing fields and geographic coverage. Website analytics describe readers who can be measured. Neither is a census of UK gyms, nor a measure of gym memberships or revenue. Missing information is marked unavailable; it is never presented as zero. England-only source coverage is not relabelled as UK-wide.
Each report is prepared and reviewed before sending. Subscribers choose the monthly list and confirm by email; they can unsubscribe at any time. Supplier enquiries and directory records are not automatically subscribed. We do not sell the newsletter subscriber list.
Corrections and illustrations
Tell us about a correction, including the page and the detail to check. Generated images are labelled as editorial illustrations and do not depict a named real gym or an endorsement.
